About Maythorne
Maythorne is a four-piece band from Glastonbury, blending ancient tunes and original compositions in a flowing folk fantasia of swirling improvisations and stomping dances.
Since forming in 2024, they've been busy on the festival scene and are now recording their first album.
Their sound is characterised by unexpected changes, tight rhythms, and virtuosic explorations of old and new tunes.
Meet the band
Daygan Robinson is a well-known mandolin wizard who is equally comfortable with stunningly fast solos and beautifully delicate tunes. He's also a founding member of Glastonbury-based festival favourites Dragonsfly.
Jenny Bliss is a multi-instrumentalist who brings her dazzling violin and flute playing to Maythorne. She also plays with psychedelic rock / jazz / classical quartet Queen Space Baroque.
David Williams is a founding member of festival legends Kangaroo Moon, a long-standing member of Seize The Day, and one of the hosts of Glastonbury's renowned traditional folk session. To Maythorne he brings his tastefully powerful bouzouki skills.
Rob Bray is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer. He plays bass and guitar in Maythorne and is also a member of Dragonsfly and the drummer of Queen Space Baroque, while Alento da Lúa is a project featuring his own songs.
